Here is a brief list of some of the common birds residing in the Athabasca area - and what they eat!

Rock Dove 

Wild bird seed, peanuts, sunflowers.

Hairy Woodpecker 

Suet, grub, wild bird seed and sunflower seeds. 

Downy Woodpecker 

Suet, grub, wild bird seed and sunflower seeds. 

Grey Jays 

Peanuts, sunflower seeds and corn.

Blue Jays 

Peanuts, sunflower seeds and corn. 

Black-billed Magpies

Suet 

Ravens 

Garbage 

White Breasted Nuthatch 

Wild bird seed, suet, sunflower and peanuts. 

Snow Bunting

Common Redpoll

Nyjer seed, thistle and black oil sunflower seed.
