King worms are a highly nutritious, high-fat/protein, and large-sized (50–60 mm) feeder insect suitable for many reptiles, such as bearded dragons, skinks, and monitors. They are active, which encourages hunting behavior, but their thick chitin requires them to be fed as part of a varied diet, not a staple. They should be kept at room temperature (not refrigerated) and gut-loaded with vegetables for 24–48 hours before feeding.
